JJ Heller - What Love Really Means (Official Music Video)

I heard this song a few weeks ago and it just struck such a cord in my heart. I of course went searching her out and found I love many of her songs. I've been in a funk lately, but when I strip all the self-pity away and just give it to Jesus.....the last verse speaks the truth of it all:

He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He's the kid with the story
No one would believe
He prays every night"Dear God won't you please
Could you send someone here
Who will love me?"

Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done
Or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means

Her office is shrinking a little each day
She's the woman whose husband has run away
She'll go to the gym after working today
Maybe if she was thinner
Then he would've stayedAnd she says...

Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done
Or what I will become
Who will love me for me
'Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means
What love really means

He's waiting to die as he sits all alone
He's a man in a cell who regrets what he's done
He utters a cry from the depths of his soul
"Oh Lord, forgive me, I want to go home"

Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside
And it said, "I know you've murdered and I know you've lied
And I have watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you'll listen I'll, I'll tell you that I..."

I will love you for you
Not for what you have done
Or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew
Love you for you
Not for what you have done
Or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew

I have heard her songs before.. but never knew who she was until I heard it on the radio one day and went to youtube searching her out. I love all her songs. And I took have been in a funk and that song really helped me. And songs don't usually do that to me.. but her's did.

hi! I am new to your blog so I wanted to say Hi! I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I cannot imagine how hard that was and is for you.
I am another military spouse, currently in Italy. Where in Germany are you stationed? I hope you love it!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for your kind kind words :)
I am always glad to have a military spouse stop by. My husband has been in the military our entire marriage. We have yet to have gone to Germany but we hear it is beautiful. I always appreciate it when my blog speaks to someone on something they are passionate about.
I am greatly looking forward to reading more on your blog. :)
AND P.S. I LOVE THAT JJ HELLER SONG TOO!
