Well so far I've done good! I grabbed ahold of my bible and started reading! Read a whole book! I know, I know I should...no really it was a short one! It was Zephaniah. I have to admit, I don't think I've ever read a single word from this particular book, but I have now. I recommend reading it. It's short, and I mean short. It's prophecy, yet there is comfort as well. Our Lord is firm, but loving. He's strict, but gentle. He knows what he wants from us and he's given us his word in we're to live as he instructs. We're the foolish and arrogant ones who often think we can do better. How rediculous is that, to think we can actually do better than what GOD has designed for us? Oh what shallow and selfish creatures we are. Yet God loves us and we ARE redeamable in his eyes! How blessed are we?
Now I'm working on my bible verse that I'm doing through Beth Moore's blog! (The link is over on the right side of my blog...under "Christian and Homeschool links" Click there! (I'm being lazy and not providing a link right here, sorry!).
Anyways I've decided it's time I actually memorize my favorite/life verse!
Isaiah 40: 11
He tends his flock like a shephard:
He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.
I fell in love with this verse when it was shared with me by a friend while we were at Walter Reed and Jordyn was going through treatment. The friend was a mom of a child with cancer too and that verse has stuck with me ever since she shared it! To know that God is gently leading us who have young, that he gathers his lambs (we're his lambs!!! our children are HIS lambs. He is OUR shephard!) Oh what a comfort! So I will know this verse word for word with in the next two weeks!
Well, I'm going to hopefully get to bed here soon. I was really tired earlier and should have went then, but foolishly didn't. :(
God Bless

Ok. I am figuring out how to "work the system" so I can comment. Yipee!
I love your previous post about what you want to accomplish in 2009. I'm with you on so many of those! Setting goals, esp when hubby is gone, seems to make time go by faster. Or at least keep you busy.
How much longer does Chad have?
Good for you Christy...
Love the bible verse..
Hope you have a good weekend
Hugs
